Which websites describe themselves with structured data, and with which schema.org types? webXtrend reads the JSON-LD on the homepage of every website it crawls, and counts every day. On 30 October 2026, 14,157,672 websites with content were analysed: 7,260,583 (51.3 %) carry structured data with a schema.org type, and 7,147,851 (50.5 %) a type that says who they are or what they offer, beyond the page itself. The most common are WebSite, Organization and LocalBusiness.
The count began on 30 October 2026. Until every website has been analysed once, the figures are provisional and overstate the share of websites with structured data.
Most used types
The schema.org types on the homepages, by the number of websites that use them. A type counts together with its subtypes: a website marked up as a Restaurant also counts as a LocalBusiness and as an Organization, but each website only once per type. The top 100,000 column counts the websites of the Tranco list, 7,018 of which have content we analysed.

By homepage
Not every domain shows a website of its own. Parked domains, placeholders and error pages carry structured data too, often the markup of the parking or hosting service, and are counted apart from the websites above.

How it is measured
webXtrend reads every JSON-LD block on the homepage of each website it crawls and records the schema.org types it names, up to ten per page, the types of nested items included. Type names are matched against the schema.org vocabulary regardless of case, unknown names are dropped. Microdata and RDFa are not read, nor are the properties of an item: no names, addresses or phone numbers.
Each website counts once, with the types seen on its last visit within the past 30 days. Only homepages are analysed, so a shop that marks up its products on product pages only counts for what its homepage carries.
